First Prize to Prysmian Group Turkey from Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology

Prysmian Group Turkey was awarded the first prize for the project "Multi-layer Production and Scrap and Dye Savings" at the 2016 Productivity Project Awards organized by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology in the Large Scale Enterprise Sustainable Production Category.

Worldwide leading company in energy and telecommunication cables sector Prysmian Group’s Turkey operation Prysmian Group Turkey, “Multi-layer Production and Scrap and Dye Savings” was entitled to the first prize in 2016 Productivity Project Awards organized by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology with its name project "Large Scale Enterprise Sustainable Production Category".

The 2016 Productivity Project Awards were held at the Opening Ceremony of the 2016 Productivity Week held at the Congresium Ankara International Convention & Exhibition Centre on 25 April 2016. The owners of 24 project who were awarded a total of 139 projects that applied to the competition received their awards from Fikri Işık, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology.

Celal Uruçay, Manager of Industrial Improvements, who received the first prize of Prysmian Group Turkey, expressed his happiness that the project on which he spent time and effort with the production team has been entitled to this award. 

Erkan Aydogdu, the CEO of Prysmian Group Turkey, said “We are honored to be entitled to the first prize at the 2016 Productivity Awards in the Large Scale Enterprise Sustainable Production Category" and continued:

"With new generation technologies, there are radical changes at every stage of production in factories. Particularly with the introduction of automation technologies, the margin of error in production is minimized, quality is increasing and resource utilization becomes more effective. We are constantly developing models to be one step ahead in the global competition. We believe that we should always update our way of doing business taking into consideration global realities with the sense of sustainability. We continue to take actions in accordance with our mission 'Linking Turkey to Future' which we have expressed at every opportunity. We have also realized the "Multilayer Production and Scrap and Dye Saving Project" that we have received awards from this perspective. This project will be an example for other plants within the Prysmian Group."

Aydoğdu saying that, as Prysmian Group Turkey they believe the importance of productivity in the sector, and stating that they focus on sustainability in their work, added “We continue working our pioneering projects and activities in 2016 as we have been in the past with our production experience, our team closely following the latest technology in our Mudanya factory and the proactive and practical approach of Turkish people."

The Prysmian Group Turkey's Mudanya factory, which stands out as one of the 9 factories that can produce energy, communication and fiber optic cable at the same time in 89 production facilities within the Prysmian Group, can produce 22,000 different cables today. Apart from the Turkish market, these products are exported to more than 40 countries including Azerbaijan, Barbados, China, France, England, North Africa, Middle East countries, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Chile, Turkmenistan and Jordan.
