Photovoltaic cables to feed a new solar power plant
Prysmian Group Turkey continues to participate in projects which leverage on sustainable and renewable energy sources. A new solar power plant will be built on an area of 320,000 sqm in two separate projects under the leadership of Efektif Endüstriyel Enerji A.Ş.. It will generate 16MW of energy, 10MW of which will be managed by Seferoğlu Solar Power Park, and the remaining 6MW by the Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone.
The project, for which Prysmian Group Turkey is supplying photovoltaic cables along with contactors and connectors, is a 16-MW plant with a minimum life of 25 years, and expected to create energy savings of some 25,000 MWh while contributing to the environment by eliminating CO2 emissions. The total cost of the power plant is expected to be fully paid back in 6 or 7 years.
The company has been involved in major projects across the country, and will now supply the cables for the Solar Power Plant under construction in the Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone; the 160-km long cable is currently under production in Germany, with partial delivery scheduled in November and the rest by the end of the year.
“Prysmian continues to be the leading brand in the solar energy sector with its offering of reliable and long-lasting products and solutions, preferred for projects both globally and in Turkey,” said İlhan Öztürk, Prysmian Turkey OEM & Special Cables Sales Director. “Prysmian products have been in use for many years, with a tried and tested level of performance. Our tests show that our products perform well above TÜV requirements and therefore have much longer lives than anticipated. We don’t limit our solar energy cable solutions to TÜV, and have also certified them for VDE compliance. By offering certified products that are also tested under real field conditions, as well as continuing to add value through our experience to our customers’ businesses, we stand apart from the competition in every respect.”
